You’ve been stuck at home. Maybe you’re enjoying it, maybe you’re not. Either way, you’re spending a lot more time looking at your place… sitting… looking… noticing… noticing everything that looks like crap. And you’re not alone, I’ve noticed a lot of your neighbors are doing the same thing.

Downloads of home improvement store apps have hit record highs. Home Depot, Lowe’s and Menards were all installed on phones in the United States more in the month of April 2020 than any other month previously. They hit 706k, 527k and 116k, respectively.

But you had time on your hands so you could go the whole nine yards. You decided to break out apps like Houzz and Room Planner. to visualize your interior design aspirations. April downloads of Room Planner are up 233% YoY in the US. Houzz downloads are down 42% YoY, but up 23% over March.

You got ahead of yourself though and realized you needed some professional help, which is why HomeAdvisor has been living its best life lately. In case you did not download HomeAdvisor, but really you need to, it’s an app that connects you with professional contractors.

Now you were in a good spot and so you headed for the finishing touches from Wayfair and Overstock, picking out new furniture and knickknacks - fantastic. Wayfair set a download record for itself in April as well, with 1.7 million.
